Apparently it was pretty good. Good enough for MVST Select to send us a free suitcase to review. Hell yeah!!! So just to be clear, they gave us this case to review. They did not pay us any money. They did not tell us to make a positive review. So I'm going to go ahead and tell you the good the bad and the ugly. So they went ahead and sent us a carry on from their newest line of aluminum suitcases. They are calling it the Space line. It is definitely a departure from their previous designs. To me, it has a more elegant design. Quite a contrast to the brutish masculine looking design of their previous trek series. Gone are hard angles and carbon fiber look. It's replaced by a smooth finish with ridges that look like little waves to me. There is a new locking mechanism that is integrated in the case. Again this feature makes it a lot more elegant. Gone are the old larger latches. Design wise it is much better aesthetically and a lot less conspicuous. There are also different wheels. They are plastic and I cannot tell a difference from the old wheels they used., performance wise. There is a new handle that better integrates with this design. A cool new feature that we found pretty handy was this notch cut into one of the pads. It's pretty handy for hanging smaller items on it. Opening it up you notice that the design is much different as well. There is much more in terms of organization and separation. One side is completely enclosed by a zipper, that opens up to reveal a decent sized compartment. The other side has a removable flap that has pockets on it for additional storage and for keeping things in place. All the materials on the inside seem high quality and look like they are built to last. Closing it up is a very easy pushing the latches in and scrambling the code to lock. Overall we think MVST hit it out of the park with this new design. It is definitely more elegant and streamlined than their trek series. The new features are definitely enough to justify a whole new range of products. As for myself though. I will be sticking with my Trek series aluminum. The dividers in the interior of the case limit the height of the objects I can put in it. I mostly use my carry on to carry batteries as well as video and audio equipment. All of which are all irregular sizes. But if you're a regular traveller with regular traveller things... It is a very good design with a lot of built in organizing features. It is lightweight. It is super solid feeling. We definitely recommend it. You can always get a Rimowa for 3x the price. But for us... we'd rather have the actual thing... We could care less about the brand on it.
